The Stuntz Inc/ Hitachi boys are always a crowd favourite at the Darwin Supercars and never let the massive crowd down with many shows throughout the 3 day weekend. This year was no exception with rookie Stuntz Inc rider Milney tearing the track up and setting the crowd off with a couple of new wicked tricks along with a couple of minor crashes. Morrison also rode like a demon aboard his trust 636. Mingay’s Harley rumbled the place to pieces with a few new tricks pulled out of the bag also. Mingay performs for Aussie troopers!

Mingay got a request to put on a Harley stunt show for the Tindal Airforce base on his way from Alice springs to Darwin to boost moral of the Aussie troopers. As a true supporter of the Australian Defence force Matt happily obliged and put on a sensational stunt show on his Harley Nighster 1200. The RAAF boys set up a Hornet F-18 jet fighter at the temporary stunt pad for Matt to perform in front of and even offered up one of there guys Mal to get on the Harley for some 2-up Stunts. After the stunt show Matt and his right hand man Twitch was taken a guided tour through the base by his brother Chris and given a joy ride in a Rescue chopper through the Katherine Gorge. They then both got the opportunity to have a fly of a $80million Hornet Simulator. Definitely an experience bot Matt and Twitch will never forget. This was the second time Matt has performed on an Australian Airforce base, the first nearly 12 years ago at the beginning of his career. Matt is the only person in Australia’s history to have received permission to tear up a base and perform on a Stuntbike for the Defence Force.

Stuntz Finke Desert race.

The Stuntz Inc dirt racing team debuted at the mother of all dirt races The Finke desert race held at Alice springs in the NT. Truck owner Chris Mingay (Matt’s brother) had many late nights in the lead up to the race preparing his highly modified Ford Ranger and race truck transporter. Team crew consisting of Hocko, Frankie, Steve and Twitch all worked late into the night every night with set backs and car setup constantly hindering the eager novice dirt racers. Chris driving and Matt navigating had an average prologue run with a 30 second penalty for a late arrival due to a split coolant line, so that meant alot of overtaking would be had come race day.
Off to a great start in the race with the overtaking of 7 cars in the first 58klms came to smashing holt when the front left stub axle snapped on a right hander at 120kph. The Stuntz Finke truck smashed through the thick scrub then rolled over after snapping the other front wheel off mid flight. This saw the end of the Mingay brother’s Finke race but left a hunger for a win in the 2011 Finke Desert race.
