Matt Mingay and Stuntz Inc have officially joined forces with Monster Energy Drink. Both Mingay and Monster are the leaders in their own fields and it was only natural for such a great partnership to eventuate. “Monster are the leaders of the energy drinks and have really nailed the market, so im stoked to be sponsored by such a fantastic company that really stick by their athletes” Mingay says. Stay tuned for a massive future with these two big hitters and many big things installed for the years ahead!
Mingay got the call up once again to perform Roadbike stunts in another Bollywood film and this time called upon fellow Stuntz Inc rider Lucky from Sydney to ride alongside him. Both Mingay and Lucky had to perform many wheelies, stoppies and stunts whilst weaving through the bad bikie gang of other riders. Unfortunately Lucky had to be a female stunt double once again. Lucky got to ride his own 08 Kwaka 600 whilst Mingay rode the Hornee Jeans GSXR600. Both the boys had a massive day, Lucky even managing to smash into Mingays foot with his crash cage leaving it Black and Blue!
Queensland’s Jamboree was held on the 21st & 22nd of August and played host to the Stuntz Inc/ Monster energy Stunt area int he carpark. This custom stunt area was Mingay’s idea and worked with great success all weekend. Both Mingay and Milne performed up to 5 times a day in the Stunt area for up to 20 minutes per performance. This area gave a perfect opportunity to pull out all stops and bust out all the tricks in the bag. Mingay commentated from the inside of his Shoei Helmet and had the crowd in the palm of his hand once again. Milne rode unbelievably all weekend crashing many times due to the ridiculous difficulty in his tricks. Milne pulled tricks never seen before in Australia. The Stuntz Inc trailer was pumping away all weekend with Bexta hammering out the cool merchandise and cooler Monster energy drinks.
The Hitachi Stunt team performed at one of their favourite events of the year at the Townsville V8 Supercars. The North Queensland crowd really turn it on for the Stuntz Inc boys with massive applause and huge appreciation when ever they are in town and this year was no exception. The Stuntz Inc/ Hitachi boys are always a crowd favourite at the Darwin Supercars and never let the massive crowd down with many shows throughout the 3 day weekend. This year was no exception with rookie Stuntz Inc rider Milney tearing the track up and setting the crowd off with a couple of new wicked tricks along with a couple of minor crashes. Mingay got a request to put on a Harley stunt show for the Tindal Airforce base on his way from Alice springs to Darwin to boost moral of the Aussie troopers. As a true supporter of the Australian Defence force Matt happily obliged and put on a sensational stunt show on his Harley Nighster 1200. The RAAF boys set up a Hornet F-18 jet fighter at the temporary stunt pad for Matt to perform in front of and even offered up one of there guys Mal to get on the Harley for some 2-up Stunts. After the stunt show Matt and his right hand man Twitch was taken a guided tour through the base by his brother Chris and given a joy ride in a Rescue chopper through the Katherine Gorge. They then both got the opportunity to have a fly of a $80million Hornet Simulator. Definitely an experience bot Matt and Twitch will never forget. This was the second time Matt has performed on an Australian Airforce base, the first nearly 12 years ago at the beginning of his career. Matt is the only person in Australia’s history to have received permission to tear up a base and perform on a Stuntbike for the Defence Force.
The Stuntz Inc dirt racing team debuted at the mother of all dirt races The Finke desert race held at Alice springs in the NT. Truck owner Chris Mingay (Matt’s brother) had many late nights in the lead up to the race preparing his highly modified Ford Ranger and race truck transporter. Team crew consisting of Hocko, Frankie, Steve and Twitch all worked late into the night every night with set backs and car setup constantly hindering the eager novice dirt racers. Chris driving and Matt navigating had an average prologue run with a 30 second penalty for a late arrival due to a split coolant line, so that meant alot of overtaking would be had come race day.
Off to a great start in the race with the overtaking of 7 cars in the first 58klms came to smashing holt when the front left stub axle snapped on a right hander at 120kph. The Stuntz Finke truck smashed through the thick scrub then rolled over after snapping the other front wheel off mid flight. This saw the end of the Mingay brother’s Finke race but left a hunger for a win in the 2011 Finke Desert race.
